Guest speakers from possible overseas VC connections - Nick offered to organise this.

Techs session next term
One ideas that Nick suggested was a session between techs at each school who are running the VC gear - as a form of PD and support for them. We would love this to go ahead and are interested to see if others feel the same.
ICT exemplary practice VC session - Summary 14th Sept 09
This session gives teachers the opportunity to hear from 3 teachers about a successful and innovative use of IT in their classroom. It will be done over Video Conferencing technology so other schools will offer presenters and ask questions.
Abbotsleigh, Scots and Brigidine will all have a teacher giving a 15 minute presentation– with opportunity to ask questions at end of each.
Each presenter will: ·give a brief summary of the learning outcome addressed ·demonstrate/show a critical aspect of the journey involving IT ·Share brief assessment of the evidence of impact on learning From Abbotsleigh, Hugo Grieve will talk about the video documentary editing project in Year 8 English. Here students learnt experientially how editing decisions construct meaning, they also developed skills in IT and collaborated using blogs.
From Brigidine, Sue Gibson will present “Literacy without all the grammar”. Sue is a History Teacher who has recently completed her Grad Dip ICT Teaching. This session involves the presentation of work samples using tools such as comic life, movie maker, debate graph, and the Shrock guide to website evaluation, to help teach students some of the new illiteracies needed for the 21st century.
From Scots, Jane Hava will talk about what Scots is doing with Video Conferencing and Rachel Brincat will discuss how ICT is used across the curriculum.
We will also meet teachers from other schools such as Hutchins in Tasmania and The Australian Science & Maths School from Victoria.
